Foothills Trail Access Points

The 76 mile Foothills Trail extends from Oconee State Park in Pickens County, winds through South Carolina with a portion crossing into North Carolina and ends in Table Rock State Park in Greenville County, South Carolina. Along this trail are several access points.

This information is to help coordinate hikers who need to be picked up at one of these access points. Coordinating with someone to pick up a hiker can be a bit tricky since phone access is limited at most locations along the trail. One idea is to give a note to a passing car requesting they place a phone call once back in an area with reception.

The person who needs to be picked up can just list the access point they are at. The person who needs to be picked up can generate directions to the location which are provided below. Other scenarios:

  • A situation arises when a hiker who needs to abandon their hike.
  • The person who is called to pick up someone needs directions.
  • On a multi-day hike, one party will likely need to wait for hours at a predetermined location.

All directions are from the Mobil Gas Station at 6491 Hwy 11, Pickens, SC (Hwy 11 & Hwy 178) and of course can easily be modified to your needs.
